Vocalist Dan Clements was right in the thick of things from Day One all the way to their recent appearance in town for the SOS Fest! October 5, 2018
00:0000:00

Since 2000, Washington's Mos Generator have been major force in the doom/stoner scene. Their strong cult following has been rabid for the myriad of releases. Their full lengthers for Listenable Records always get top priority as well. The latest effort " The Shadowlands" is mere months old and it's a "contenda" for sure. So... On a raining Tuesday night on their recent trip across the country, we sat down with vox/axeman Tony Reed (with bassist Sean Booth lurking). We discuss the new record, their relationship with Listenable, and Mr. Reed's Heavy Hand Recording studio. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", the Indie Spotlight returns in a HUGE way! We sat down with rising Wisconsin death metallers Casket Robbery. Vokillist Megan gave us the lowdown and we crank the latest EP! AS well we discuss our choice for Boston Music Awards and spin the latest Mos Generator, some of Tony's solo stuff, and new tunes from Scorched, Psycroptic, and Blood Of The Sun! Horns!!

September 28, 2018
00:0000:00

One of the most exciting tours currently pounding the Metal pavement is the Dark Tranquillity/Amorphis/Moonspell (w/Omnium Gatherum) trek. This triple threat were cut from the same cloth and careers ran many same parallels. These Master of Metal are no strangers to this show either. Last year we had the good fortune of sitting down with D.T. and Amorphis. This time its Moonspell's time in the RAM hotseat. Still touring their amazing "1755" concept album, vox/mainman Fernando Ribeiro was eager to give us a few. We spoke of the response of said brilliant record, this fantastic tour, and sharing wisdom to the next generation of Metallers. In our "News, Views, and Tunes" we discuss Kiss' farewell announcement and the recent study that regular concert attendance increases ones lifespan. Here's to immortality!! Musically we crank the Moonspell record, the new Deicide and Treasonist and Begrime Exemious! Horns!!

Episode 522: Spreading The Rumours

September 21, 2018
00:0000:00

How cool are this week's "Creature Feature" artists, the legendary Vicious Rumors? Well, VR was Bay Area cool before the Bay Area was cool. Having their own sound, Rumors was never really put amongst their San Francisco breathren. Vicious was already off to the races with all your fave thrashers from the scene in supporting roles. Arguably, the 80s were the band's heyday but they never stopped producing awesome tunage throughout the decades. Now thirty years after their most succesful record, "Digital Dictator", The Vicious Ones have hit the road again to commemerate that monumental record. We sat down with Day One axeman Geoff Thorp. We discusss the pre- thrash days, celebrating 40 (!!) yrs, and the whole VR/Velvet Revolver controversy. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we get into some gear talk and some Metallica fan vs. Slayer fan type chat. Musically, we crank the latest Vicious Rumors, Niviane, 2 Minute Minor, and the new Infernal Coil! Horns!!

Episode 521: Getting Away With Away - Voivod interview

September 7, 2018
00:0000:00

To no surprise, we've followed and admired veteran Canuck metallers VOIVOD right from the get-go. First, as mid-80s underground thrash darlings and literally throughout the decades, Voivod has always carved their own niche and followed the muses of their own creativity. All the while, they maintained the integrity of true musical artists. The one constant throughout has been the presence of drummer Away! The man saw all the victories... and defeats. They fought thru all the trials and tribulations and came out stronger for it. Through it all creating top drawer tunage. Recently, Voivod headlined the inaugural SOS Fest in Winnipeg. Even with the night in full swing, Mr. Away still found a few minutes to share some thoughts with us. We discussed the new album "The Wake", his definition of the Voivod sound, some "Jasonic" talk, and he answered another one of our thirty (!) year old queries. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we hit our local wrasslin' matches and comic shops. Musically, we crank the new Voivod, CAULDRON and CEMETERY LUST records. As well as some classic RAZOR! Horns!! Episode 520: The Golden Boy - Dream Child interview

September 7, 2018
00:0000:00

The memory of the legendary Ronnie James Dio will live on forever! Being one of the most influential figures in Metal history, RJD had his share of "disciples". Axe extrordinaire Craig Goldy's career was off and running before even meeting Dio. But it was his contribution to the last handful of DIO's (the band) years and albums that brought Mr. Goldy to the heavy metal forefront. Goldy's new band, DREAM CHILD, basically picks up where Dio left off. The project features Dio's last line up, including bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Simon Wright, and features a fresh new voice. In a Creature Feature long time coming, we sat down with Mr. Goldy. We discussed the new band and album, the "supergroup" concept, and the awesomeness that is RJD! In our News, Views, and Tunes, we welcome the input of our social media type dude "Big" Willy. We hit up a local Fest and provide a brief lesson in etiquette. Musically, we crank the Dream Child album, new tracks from PIG DESTROYER, NECRONOMICON and we had to go with some classic Dio! Horns!!

Episode 519: Eating Our Shreddies - Frankie C interview

August 31, 2018
00:0000:00

Around here we don't have much need for these music "reality" type programs. They're basically glorified game shows that cater to Joe and Jane Average. The music sucks too! BANGER TV, headed by noted music documentarian Sam Dunn, set out to produce a competition series catered to the Metal connoisseur and the more musically inclined. The Shredders Of Metal was born. A six episode YouTube miniseries featuring six Canadian guitarists doing just as the monicker implies - shredding!! Spoiler alert: the winner was this week's Creature Feature Frankie Carracci. No stranger to this show, we sat with Frankie C. to get the ins and outs of the show. Plus performing for judge Alex Skolnick and his previous victory of his band VESPERIA's winning the Wacken Metal Battle. In our News, Views and Tunes, we crank Mr. C.'s full time gig, the new MAD MAX, YASHIRA,  and some classic TESTAMENT! Horns!!

August 24, 2018
00:0000:00

Preparing for this week's Creature Feature proved to be a formidable task. If the name Vanessa Nocera doesn't ring an immediate bell, after our chat, you'll ask yourself why. Mrs. Nocera has been tearing it up in the black/death underground for a number years with a slew of amazing bands, thus the daunting task of covering her illustrious career. Her latest outfit CAULDRON BURIAL has a new album coming out soon. She's most noted for her Hell's Headbangers project VAULTWRAITH, and SURGIKILL is her band with none other than Stevo of the legendary IMPETIGO. Not to mention being behind "Evilspeak" horror mag and Razorback Records. Whew!! And what have you been doing with your life? In our News, Views, and Tunes, we talk the amazing W.A.S.P. debut and pay tribute to Jill Janus and Randy Rampage. Musically, we crank Vanessa's Cauldron Burial and Vaultwraith plus the new SATAN, RETORTION TERROR, and HUNTRESS. Horns!

August 17, 2018
00:0000:00

This week we found a bright, shiny diamond in the rough. Canadian tech deathsters Archspire recently came through town. Sharing the stage was newly signed Season of Mist label mate SARAH LONGFIELD. To the uninitiated, Miss Longfield made her mark as a YouTube vlogger, showcasing her amazing skill as a prog guitarist with a huge love of Metal. Now with the mighty Mist behind her, this venomous virtuoso is ready to conquer the world! We pick her brain and get into all the whys, whens, hows, particularly being Season's sore thumb. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we discuss how age is truly just a number. Musically, we showcase Miss Longfield's diversity and get a bit "hairy" with WOLF KING, WOLFBLOOD, and DEE F'N SNIDER! Horns!!

Episode 516: Up From The Depths - Depths of Hatred interview

August 10, 2018
00:0000:00

Canadian deathcore thrashers DEPTHS OF HATRED have been on our radar for a number of years now. Still a relatively unknown entity, they've been flogging it out in the metal underground since 2010. They produced a string of killer indie releases and now have taken that next step toward Metal domination. The fine folks at Prosthetic Records recently picked them up and the result was the cool, new "Bloodguilt" release. We caught up with DOH on their recent stop in town supporting the mighty HIDEOUS DIVINITY. Axeman Martin Trottier and newly acquired vocalist Nico Monette were eager to chat about this big step, some of their past, and the current Montreal metal scene. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we discuss sucking it up for the scene and we establish being "established" in underground Metal. Musically, we crank the DOH record, label mates LEECHED, ARCHSPIRE, and the new ATROCITY!! Horns To That!

Episode 515: Hideous And/Or Divine - Hideous Divinity interview

August 3, 2018
00:0000:00

Italian death metallers HIDEOUS DIVINITY are having a banner year. Their killer third Unique Leader recording "Adveniens" has been an underground fave. They've taken their brutality on the road, crossing our great nation for the first time, giving us the opportunity for a long overdue chat. We caught up with vokillist Enrico "H" DiLorenzo. Apart from the awesomeness that is HD, the most interesting part of the DiLorenzo story is his real world chosen profession: he's a medical physician. A throat doctor no less!! A cool irony we had to delve further into (Umm, and no "deep throat" jokes plz). As well, we spoke about the said latest album, their cool monicker, and just what the H the "H" stands for! In our News, Views, and Tunes, we report our recent activities on the live front and pay tribute to a fallen legend. Musically, we crank the latest HD, some old school SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, DEATHGRAVE, and MANILLA ROAD. Horns!!

Episode 514: Mighty Mince - Haggus interview

July 27, 2018
00:0000:00

What has Agathocles wrought??!! The aggressive music underground has many sub-genres. Each of these has the potential to produce to their own sub-sub-genre. All it takes is the right band at the right moment with enough influence and they can kickstart the whole she-bang. Welcome to Mincecore! Oakland's HAGGUS took the Agathocles/mincecore blueprint, gorified it up a bit, and ran with it. Now, the power trio of putridity is at the forefront of the mincecore  sub-sub-genre. We caught up with axe/vox Hambone after a recent basement gig. Minus the black mask (no pics, we play up the gimmick here), we had a quick chat about their debut full-lengther, their unique gigs, and what exactly is mincecore is. Also, we're thrilled that RAM social media dude Will Mercier ("Big Willy" to us) came out from hiding and joined the fun for this week's News, Views, and Tunes. We discussed metal related pro wrasslin', our experiences with the aforementioned basement shows, and all our happenings on the live front. Musically, we crank the new Haggus, classic ABSCESS, and the new HOODED MENACE. Whew! Horns to a packed show.

July 20, 2018
00:0000:00

This week's "Creature Feature" is another chat that's been a long time coming. US tech deathsters RIVERS OF NIHIL are total road warriors. They've graced our presence numerous times. But only now have we been able to sit down with them and get the scoop. Axeman Brody Uttley is one dedicated sonuvagun. Since entering the music biz, RON has been his sole focus. It's paid off big time with the brilliance of the band's new killer record "Where Owls Know My Name". We discuss signing on with Metal Blade, their cool monicker, and some other well known "Uttley's". In our News,Views, and Tunes, we get into cool stuff on the live front, cool new tunes, and we pay tribute to a FL death metal original. Musically, we crank the RON record, new stuff from SIX FEET UNDER and SVEN GALI, SISTERS OF SUFFOCATION, and MALEVOLENT CREATION. Horns!!

Episode 512: Withdrawal Technique - Withdrawal interview

July 13, 2018
00:0000:00

There's two sides to every story, two sides to every coin. A couple of years back, we had a cool chat with Adam, the vocalist of Canadian hardcore band WITHDRAWAL. The band's Escapist Records debut "Never" was ready to drop and we spoke of his committment to straight edge. Fast forward to present day and we now sit down with his brother Joel and bassist Mike on the mean streets of Winnipeg. We had a very entertaining chat discussing said record, being (not so) straight edge, meeting Degrassi (!) cast members and some road stories that probably shouldnt be repeated. Good times! In our News, Views, and Tunes, we crank the latest Withdrawal, the new SKELETONWITCH and CLITERATI, and that awesome VOLTANG band we've been putting over! Horns!!
