Recently we lost one of the all time greats in Dead Kennedys drummer D.H. Peligro. This loss was particularly tough as our DK fandom goes back to the band's glory years while we are still in high school. We discovered Jello and the boys along with RAM alum Mark Buell. Mr. Buell is one of the minds behind Connect Humanity, an organization dedicated to bringing the internet to isolated Indigenous areas. And an original Gen X punk rocker. Mark joined us for the episode commemorating the late, great Neil Peart (Rush). But the next time we have him on it will be under better circumstances. We discussed all things DKs. When/how we discovered them, our fave albums and songs, and reminisced about old times. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we hit up the Manitoba Comic Con and local hardcore legends Crown Of Thorns' last gig. Heavy Metal has always had a strong connection and relationship to the wonderful world of Horror. The #1 topic of discussion amongst Horror conisseurs is the new "Hellraiser" adaptation on Hulu. It's already proving to be a divisive little flick. But what is certain is the impact that the Hellraiser franchise has had on the Metal world. The third installment "Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth" produced not one but two versions of the theme song by two of the biggest names in our genre. So in honour of the new flick, we sat down with both the Motorhead and Ozzy versions in a "watch along" to compare and pick a fave. We had a jam packed week! Jammed enough that we felt it was best to just dedicate the bulk of the show to basically being one big "Metal Fix". More importantly though, we lost one of the all time greats in The Exalted Piledriver. We were huge Piley fans from the get-go and late in his life considered him a friend. So we pay tribute to this great man and crank some key tracks. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we were super busy on the live front, took in the Rolling Stones "Unzipped" exhibit and gave adam levine a big FU!
