Episode 681: Guilty Pleasures??
Thursday Dec 02, 2021
Thursday Dec 02, 2021
Even the most Kvlt of Metalheads have at least one "guilty pleasure". That certain song or artist that they may choose to keep to themselves. Either from fear of embarrassment or reprisal from their homies. But that's just a reflection of the open mindedness Metalheads possess. Metal may be the Trve love, but we find that many different genres make up our music collections. Here at the RAM offices, a variety of musical menageries fill the air. Some may be surprising, some not so much. So this week we sat down and spilled our guts and shared some tunes that may just fall under the "Believe It or Not" banner. Confession is good for the Rock n Soul. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we thumb thru the new Decibel and discuss the (in)famous "WKRP in Cincinnati" 'Turkey Drop' episode. Musically, we crank new and used from Genocide Pact, Flotsam and Jetsam, Strife, Gravesend, Castle, Karloff, Churchburn, and Bastardur. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 680: Ask And You Shall...
Friday Nov 26, 2021
Friday Nov 26, 2021
If there is one thing we love the most about doing your fave radio show, it's got to be asking our fave artists questions. Interviews are the life's blood of this show. We love picking the brains of our esteemed guests and entertaining our listeners. The announcement of the Bruce Dickinson spoken word tour having a fan interaction Q&A segment got our creative juices flowing. One day we'd like to get Mr. Dickinson in our "Creature Feature" hotseat. Until then we'll make due with perhaps presenting a question to Big Bruce in the live environment. But what to ask? There's also myriad of other artists we'd like to pose a question to as well. So this time around we sat down and hammered out these hypothetical questions we'd present to a variety of artists. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we have a special "Extended Indie Spotlight". Mr. Matt Copper is a Winnipeg producer of local Metal artists working out of his "Atomic 29 Productions" studio. While we've featured untold bands before, we figured we'd get the 411 on the production of these awesome indie releases. Musically, we crank new and used from Enforced, Fortress, Blood Sport, Weregoat (!) and Righteous Fist. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 679: There Goes Tokyo!
Friday Nov 19, 2021
Friday Nov 19, 2021
Oh, how the mighty has...risen! When we first discovered French metallers Gojira, they were pretty much just another underground outfit with loads of potential. Now over the years, thru hard rock and one killer release after another, these behemoths are one of Metal's darlings. The new album "Fortitude", debuted in top spots all through out Billboards relevant categories. And now the band is currently killing it on the road. Having just caught a headline set, we're ready to talk all things "Big G". And this time we don't mean Godzilla. Well, sorta. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we have a couple belts of "Blackened Whiskey" and crank some new shite' from Lavaborne, Bootlicker, Mortiferum, Lamp of Murmurr and introduce South Carolina punkers Shem Creeps in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 678: Truer Words Never Spoken
Thursday Nov 11, 2021
Thursday Nov 11, 2021
What a pleasant surprise that none other than Bruce Dickinson is scheduled to be doing a spoken word tour. We're sure lots of mainstream Iron Maiden fans are scratching their heads going "Huh? Who wants to pay money just to hear him talk?" The more underground fans already know how fun and interesting these type of shows are, having enjoyed Jello Biafra and Henry Rollins doing them for years now. And we're sure Brucie Boy will have enough stories and words of wisdom to give us our money's worth. So in this spirit we go over some other artists we'd like to see doing the spoken word thing. If Bruce can do it, then certainly Rob Halford could!! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the miscarriage of justice it is that early 70s female trailblazing rock band Fanny aren't a household name. Musically, we crank new and used from Exhumed, Striker, Oxygen Destroyer, Mortuary (Mex) and the aforementioned Jello with No Means No! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Thursday Oct 28, 2021
Thursday Oct 28, 2021
"It's Party Time!!" It's no secret that the amazing zombie punk flick "Return Of The Living Dead" is an all time fave around the RAM offices. The classic horror comedy has it all - zombies, splatter, "Scream Queen" Linnea Quigley, and, of course, a kick ass soundtrack! So this Halloween season we 're going to pay tribute to ROTLD with another watch along. The idea is simple. Download this episode or find it on Spotify. Slap in your DVD (or streaming). Then, 3, 2, 1...press play. And watch along with our insightful (yeah right) commentary. For this special presentation, we enlisted Snowy's cohort from our sister show "Wrestling Night In Canada", Mr. Matt Copper. Episode 675: Welcome To 1983!!
Thursday Oct 21, 2021
Thursday Oct 21, 2021
When we woke up this morning, it was '83 all over again! The much discussed Satanic Panic era had the legendary Iron Maiden firmly placed as Public Enemy #1. Mainstream American media salivated over Bruce and The Boys break thru record "Number Of The Beast" do to it's "controversial" (Ha!) monicker and artwork. Fast forward almost forty years later and we see some things never change. An Ontario high school teacher's career came under fire for the mere fact she's a Maiden fan. The Metal community rallied behind our new favourite educator with a counter petition to not only save her career but to stand up for freedom of expression. Once again! So we did our Rock n Roll duty on the air! In our "News, Tunes and Views", we hit the live venues and music and comic shops. Musically, we crank new and used from Deceased, Gruesome, Psycho, Feed The Corpses To The Pigs, Beyond Grace, Halloween and introduced Australia's Devil Electric in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 674: Doctor Doctor - interview with Paradox
Thursday Oct 07, 2021
Thursday Oct 07, 2021
"Two doctors walk into a bar...a pair of docs". Ok, we're mixing up bad jokes here but you get the idea. To the Metal World though, Paradox is an awesome veteran band spawned from the legendary 80s German thrash scene. Paradox have a new platter on the shelves in the form of "Heresy 2 - End Of The Legend". A worthy sequel to their most famous record. So we sat down with the man behind the legend Charly Steinhauser. We get into the new record, their former label Roadrunner (now and then) and we find out exactly what a "paradox" is. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we talk the Elvira 40th Anniversary special and sign a petition to get punk legend Chi-Pig (SNFU) a spot on the Canadian Walk of Fame. Musically, we crank new and used from Paradox, Iron Angel, Lock Up, Doom, Government Issue, Christian Muenzer, Dolore, Morbific, the aforementioned SNFU and introduce Chicago's Creepshow in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!!

Episode 673: Crisix Million Dollar Band - interview with Crisix
Thursday Sep 30, 2021
Thursday Sep 30, 2021
Until now, Spanish thrashers Crisix were barely a blip on our musical radar. Well that's on us. Once we investigated further we were blown away by their old school thrash. And the outfit's new Listenable release "The Pizza EP" has been getting multiple spins in the RAM offices. So we got vox Juli Bazooka on the horn to explore this unique effort. We get into the concept of the record and the band's love of pizza, American thrash and Jurassic Park! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", it's Bandcamp Friday again!! So this time we share our picks and recommendations. Check out the links below! Musically, we crank the new Crisix plus some new and used from Portrait, Criminal, Violator, Hazzerd, Regional Justice Centre, the immortal Piledriver and introduce Chicago's Bear Mace in our "Indie Spotlight".
