Another one off the old Bucket List! We discovered Danish heavy rockers Witch Cross in '84. The same time we went Metal full time. The outfit's debut album "Fit For Fight" caught our attention right away. So much in fact said album produced one of our fave songs ever! The band's output has been sporadic over the years. But now WC are back with an amazing new album "Angel of Death". Founder/axeman Mike Koch has been there for the whole ride. And the new album affords us the opportunity to have him the RAM hottest. We go over everything about the new album and dive into some cool history. So exciting! In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the recent Canadian church burnings and read/dissect an interesting "Entitled Parent" Reditt post regarding a Les Paul gee-tar. Welcome to Radioactive Metal's second Watch Along. We had such a great time during the Halloween season covering the 80s horror rock film "Trick Or Treat", we figured we'd give it another go. "Decline of The Western Civilization 2- The Metal Years" is an old fave of ours. This docu film covering the 80s LA metal scene is rich with rock n roll history and a lot of laughs as well. Just watching this film takes us back to the times watching it a teens. It was definitely a party vibe and I think we recreated that. Now's the chance to relive those memories with us. I guess we just can't get enough Marta! Earlier this year we spoke with Crystal Viper vox Marta Gabriel. We discussed the band's latest effort "The Cult". Not one to rest on her laurels, Mrs. Gabriel followed that up right away, dropping a cool comp. of covers. "Metal Queens" pays tribute to all the amazing vocalists that helped shape Marta's awesomeness. This time we discussed the new record and all the legendary figures that assisted her with it. We've never hidden our love of Decibel magazine. We've been monthly readers/subscribers for years now. We've chatted about it endlessly and have interviewed contributors. A fave regular feature has been the Metal Muthas column, where the mother of a prominent artist is interviewed. Well...we thought we'd give it a go ourselves. Our fandom of legendary deathmongers Nuclear Death goes back decades. Our friendship with mainperson Lori Bravo has really blossomed over the past year. Thru that we've gotten to know Lori's mom Barbara Bravo, making her the ideal candidate for our inaugural Metal Mothers feature. "The Mumster" shares with us a little bit about herself, what Lori was like as child and, of course, her first reaction to hearing the brutality that is Nuclear Death. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we share our Record Store Day booty and make our picks for July's RSD releases. Unfortunately, this week Aaron was unable to join us. So with his blessing, your "Cool Uncle Snowy" set out and enlisted a suitable co host. Death Metal trailblazer (and good friend) Lori Bravo (ex-Nuclear Death) has dropped her amazing new solo album "Bare Bones". So it made for a perfect opportunity to get her back on the show again. We discuss the new album, her almost relationship with Autopsy's Chris Reifert and the impending ND Moribund reissues. Miss. Bravo was happy to share the spotlight with death noise rockers Yautja. The outfit just dropped their new record "The Lurch" via Relapse. We got drummer Tyler Coburn on the horn to give us the 411. Last year we were blown away from Calif. crusties Destroyed In Seconds latest album "Divide And Devour". D.I.S. have a cool crossover sound that appeals to Metalheads and Punks alike. It took awhile but Deep Six Records came correct and released a sweet vinyl edition of said album. We were so stoked with the presentation we had to speak with vox Jon Tamala. He gave us the dis and dat on the new album plus sharing the stage with hardcore legends and putting over his bandmate's other outfits. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss censorship with regards to a Texas art teacher and make a hockey bet with a veteran Canadian Metal band. Swedish musical maestro Per Wiberg is a musician's musician. The multi instrumentalist has plied his trade for a number of legendary outfits over his storied career. Mostly known for his work in Opeth, Mr. Wiberg is a current member of Spiritual Beggars and has hit the road with Candlemass. Not one to rest on his laurels, he's just released his new solo EP "All Is Well In The Land Of The Living But The Rest Of Us...Lights Out", to which he was quick to speak about. Of course, we had to get his thoughts on working with his aforementioned outfits as well. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go over the Maiden snub at the HOF, Dave Ellefson's recent online activities and pay tribute to Warlord axeman William Tsamis (Rest In Power). Banger TV YouTube series "Heavy Metal Hitchhiker" focus' on this good hearted gas attendant's race against time to return a guitar to his heroes and be given a roadie job in return. And of course, it's comedy of errors and hilarity ensues. We're always on the look out for cool interview subjects beyond the usual, so this time we sat down with the lovable Mitch, stand up comedian Mr. Garrett Jamieson. We get into the origin of the story, all that he brings to the role and the soundtrack of Mitch's life. A star is born!
